Water Pipes
Help The Thirsty $100.00 - or fill in your most generous gift.

It's just water but it can be so precious. Women in the rugged Himalayas mountains spend a vast amount of time per day just carrying water. And when it isn't the women it's the young children, especially the girls. Those who live in the hilly area will walk 1500ft down steep hillsides to a well or spring - fill the water pot and then return with it balanced on their head. This ritual will be performed multiple times per day in a never ending quest for what water is available.

Sometimes, when the people are fortunate, a thick 1 inch water pipe will run from a spring far above their village to a place near their simple homes. Water pipes provided by caring people alleviate the tough climb up and down the mountain daily. Imagine doing that.

There are two core problems in the Himalayas. One, water scarcity, hence the need for women to carry heavy loads of water 3-6 hours per day, and two, water quality, hence the need for women to spend another large portion of their lives caring for the sick, especially caring for their sick and dying children (One in three children in Nepal dies of waterborne disease before the age of three). 60% of Nepal children are stunted because their young bodies have not retained essential nutrients on account of diarrhea and other water borne diseases.  You can change that with clean water and accessible water.
Water Pump
Suggested Donation $175.00 - or fill in your most generous gift.

Barnabas GlobalGifts projects targets villages with poor populations that have difficult access to water. Most are the persecuted Christian minority but many fall into that category of the low caste groups that are also ostracized socially. The wells we dig are affordable and strategically chosen. Can you help give a village or a group of people fresh water today? It can be as little as $175.
